For the lady who wrote the following blog.........

http://ship17.blogspot.com/

After leaving RTC Great Lakes, I have to say that this is the worst thing I think I have ever seen written about this place. It is boot camp, and 88 people sleep in a room that does not violate health codes. The heads are to be cleaned by the recruits, so if it was not clean, then it is because of the recruits in that compartment. As for the food, IT IS bot camp, not the Outback Steakhouse. the food is developed by a nutritionist in the civilian sector. I think that you are misinformed about how things are done up there. If you feel like your son was treated unfairly, maybe you should contact the Public Affairs Officer at the base. IT IS BOOT CAMP. If there is anything I can say, it would be that the recruits are treated and taken up for better than any staff. Recruits get 8-10 hours of sleep per day(except for maybe a 2 hour watch at night), RDC's get maybe 4-6 hours if we are lucky. Recruits get Light and Limited Duty chits for ailments or sprains or what not. I, and RDC , had to push a division for 8 straight weeks on a sprained ankle and sick with the flu so I did not lose my RDC pay. I had a herniated disc in my back but I was still required to show up to work and do my damn job. Your "child", wether gay or not was found unsuitable for military service for one reason or another. GET OVER IT! Obviously thousands of recruits go through a year and are successful. Don't make this a personal thing. Just deal with it.

2007 Mustang Club of America "Prairieland Roundup" Springfield, IL 20-22 JULY, 2007

These are some pictures from the car show I went to on the weekend that you see above. I had a lot of fun. Met a lot of interesting people and saw a lot of cool cars. Not too happy about the final results of the cars, but now I know the rulebook a little bit better for the MCA national shows. Here are some of the cooler cars that were there. A lot of Shelby GT500's showed up and a lot of older cars. There was 390 total cars in over 20 different classes. Enjoy these pics.
Left Side of the show site. First 8 rows of cars.
Right side of the show site. 6 rows of cars on the right.
